Internet NZ Programme Design
Wellington, Aotearoa
I'm a freelancer who designs the NetHui programme, among other things in the nebulous intersection of events, communications, tech, engagement, and fundraising (want to hire me? Get in touch!). I also work at The Common Unity Project Aotearoa, and sit on the boards of Wellington Rape Crisis, ALRANZ Abortion Rights Aotearoa, and Inner City Wellington.
I first discovered NetHui when I facilitated a session called 'Let's talk about sex' in 2015 and I keep coming back because I cannot resist the multidisciplinary chaotic good of unconferences. I'm passionate about creating a more equitable world and making it easier for people to participate in things that affect them. I'm interested in how technology can be used to build community, and reduce or challenge social inequities. I'm a co-founder and current secretary of the Aotearoa Tech Union. In my spare time, I love knitting, cheese, beer, plants, cities built for people, feminism, and patting other people's dogs (special thanks to everyone at InternetNZ for indulging me and letting me create the #pets-of-nethui channel).
