I am a Senior Advisor working at the Office for Seniors. ‘Improve digital skills and inclusion of older people to ensure they are not excluded from the benefits of a technological world’ is an initial action and a priority in our strategy, Better Later Life – He Oranga Kaumātua 2019 to 2034.

I am currently leading the Digital Literacy Training for Seniors initiative over the next two years to improve digital inclusion for older people. It aims to:
- enable older people to keep up with technology as it changes
- increase older people’s the trust and confidence of carrying out online activities, including staying connected with their families and friends.

We have developed a Digital Literacy Evaluation Framework to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of digital literacy training programmes.

We have been exploring and seeking partnership opportunities to improve digital literacy skills for older people, as well as addressing the constraints the Digital Literacy Training for Seniors initiative.
